Homage To The College


  • A part of the College Garden was maintained throughout the year by The Lady Brabourne College Alumni Association (LBCAA).
  • Since last few years Smt. Dipika Chakraborty, the present President of the Association has been contributing Rs 1,00,000/- annually to the LBCAA for awarding scholarships to the students of the Geography Department. Last year Three(3) PG and two(2) UG students received Rs 20,000/- each for pursuing higher education in Geography.
  • The Mondalika Bannerji Memorial Silver Medal was awarded to Upasana Chandra, the best UG student of the English Department.
  • A part of the funds raised through the Mega event of August 11, 2023, could be utilised for the benefit of the college. On March 18, 2024, a sum of Rs 3,60,000/- (Three Lac Sixty Thousand) was handed over to the Principal Professor Siuli Sarkar for the renovation of Hostel Washrooms. The job has been duly completed and has been of immense help to all the boarders.

Homage To The Society


  • On August 11, 2023, a Mega Fundraising cultural event was organised by the Lady Brabourne College Alumni Association at the Kalamandir Auditorium. Renowned Artists like Smt. Rezwana Choudhury Bannya and Smt Rituparna Sengupta (who is also an alumna of the LBC) performed together on stage, for the first time. Smt Arundhati Bhattacharya, the 1st lady Chairman of the State Bank of India, and a member of our alumni gracefully inaugurated the event. More than 1000 audience attended the show and a sum of above Rs. 11 lacs were collected and contributed to the alumni fund. In addition to the funds raised, LBCAA also facilitated a donation of Rs. 1 Lac (sponsored) to the reputed NGO Khelaghar (established by Late Maitreyi Devi)
  • The LBCAA has donated a total sum of Rs 50,000/- to two Organizations e.g. 1) Lily Foundation and 2) Siksha Niketan. Both the organisations carry out significant charitable work for the underprivileged and have received Rs 25,000/- each on January 31, 2024 from LBCAA.

Seminar & Lectures


  • An International Seminar titled 'Post Covid-19 Macroeconomics' was held jointly by IQAC and the Department of Economics on April 6, 2023. Reputed Economists from the country and abroad graced the event and unveiled interesting insights on global macroeconomics. The LBCAA participated in the Seminar and also sponsored the seminar with a sum of Rs.20000/-.
  • A Career Counselling Programme was organised by the Techno India University at the College on September 7, 2023, as an initiative of LBCAA. A large number of students of various streams participated in the event.
  • On January 27, 2024, a seminar was arranged at the College where Sri Arjan Basu Ray spoke on "Urban Biodiversity". The program was well attended and generated ample interest among the audience.
  • The 12th Mandalika Bannerji Memorial Endowment Lecture was delivered by the Renowned speaker Professor Sumit Chakraborty of the Presidency University of Kolkata on March 18, 2024 at the College Auditorium. The Talk was jointly organized by the Lady Brabourne College Alumni Association and the Advanced Research Centre for Indian Writing in English, PG Department of English, LBC. The topic was "Discourse and the Literary Classroom: Scattered Reflection on Textual Practice".
  • In 2023, a seminar on "Post-Covid Economic Recovery" was organized.
  • On the Annual Reunion Day December 21, 2023, a Fete was organized at the College Premises. About 35 stalls were set up exhibiting various kinds of products.
